WHAT SOCIETY DO WE WANT TO LIVE IN? MERITOCRACY? CLIQUES? POP CULTURE?

Everyone is equal and no one can define or defend merit … so that is out. Cliques exist and we only condone those cliques that we belong to … so that is a maybe. Pop culture is … popular … easy because there is not a need to think … and so easy to find kinship … so that is our fate.

Social media — j’accuse!

Social media has amplified opinions and cliques to the point of irrationality and taken it to a place where it is impossible to justify even … established science … much less a meritocracy. And worst of all government and other vested interests are beginning to exploit it at scale.

Don’t think so? Thank whatever that you don’t have to believe this alternative fact!

Neither knowledge, nor humanity can progress in this situation. Imagine nine factions with different ideologies about whether the earth is flat or round. Aren’t those images from space showing a globe just photoshop from fake science?

At the root of this dysfunction is humanity’s adoration of stupid … and of easy. While the pressure of performance can get to the best of us, it is no excuse to wallow in stupid and make it our banner.

Perhaps if the insult is taken out of less than brilliant performances, no one would feel forced to…
