Three Powers Women Have & Should Actively Use To Achieve Equality

Gender diversity and equality in the professional world has become a mainstream concern of late, but diversity and inclusion initiatives in corporations have been around for nearly 30 years. Progress is being made … but not fast enough. Three key factors need to reach critical mass before progress will accelerate:

  1. A robust pipeline of qualified women in all fields needs to be available. This is a matter of education and peer support.

2. More women need to climb into C-Suites and boards to jump start change.

These two are much talked about. There is a third that needs to be discussed just as much, if not more:

3. Apart from pointing out the issue, women need to actively use the importance of female perspectives to the business landscape and the much more holistic leadership styles that they naturally have to make things more equal.

As an investor in Innovation Women with an active focus on shining the light on women, I have attended many a meeting where women bemoan the glass ceiling. I am sympathetic and this is one of the reasons for my investment.
