The Rights Of Stupid
There are so many leavening layers of sophistication and on so many fronts that no one can claim to NOT be stupid. Sometimes I take indications of my simplicity as an insult. However, in the end I do attempt to see both the humor of it and the opportunity to become better. Some others choose to dwell in, celebrate and demand equality for their simplicity. This has been the central crisis these past four years. Much as a new regime is a different representation of the USA, we have not truly solved for the issues and rights of the stupid.
I am glad Trump is gone and Biden is in. I am glad liberal democracy seems to have achieved some majority and control of Congress, the Senate and the Executive branch. I am glad Biden will rescind and remedy a slew of policies put in place by Trump. However 74M people did vote for Trump. A seemingly large majority of such people subscribed to his nationalist, racist, and sexist rhetoric … and policies. While it amazes me that he could get their support despite the many questions about his prior and in-office achievements, it clearly represents a burning need for a large population.
Watching the invasion of the capitol, the hyped and yelled slogans, and the various comportments and mannerisms was alarming. While damage to lives and the capitol was unforgivable, what remains amazing is that quite so many people were in a frenzy to take back something…
