If you have the fully mapped human genome … along with those of several other species and if you have a way to cut and splice fairly precisely within it with CRISPR and then if you have a way to generate new genetic admixtures with AI … what would you do?

Pinky: Gee Brain, what are we gonna do tonight?
Brain: The same thing we do every night, try to take over the world!

Some of us would be scared but then some would jump at the chance at body mods and cosmetic possibilities, while some others at disease cures. How long before parents want designer babies and how much longer before someone tries for an army of sub species of human?

Brain: Ah! That’s what I need. 20 more Pinkys. Just not all talking and just not all asking me the same question every night! They are going to be a help this time.

The human genome was mapped to completion in 2022. Also, as of June 2021, 3,278 unique animals have had their nuclear genome sequenced and the assembly made publicly available in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) GenBank database.

We also have great advances with Genetic editing in CRISPR. Cas9 enzymes together with CRISPR sequences form the basis of a technology known as CRISPR-Cas9 that can be used to edit genes within organisms. This…
